Every 2.2 seconds, a child loses a parent due to war, natural disaster, poverty, disease and other causes. Today, there are 133 million children who have lost one or both of their parents, and 15 million are orphaned due to AIDS.
SOS Children’s Villages, the world’s largest non-governmental organization dedicated to raising orphaned and abandoned children, is working to address the needs of these children each day and asks you to support us during World Orphan Week from October 5-11. By joining with SOS Children's Villages, you can lend your voice to help these children!

SOS Children's Villages is proud to name Ernest Brown, M.D., the winner of the WOW Us Video Contest!
Dr. Brown is a rare find in the medical community. He is a D.C.-based family physician working for Unity Health Care who makes house calls for under-served patients in the southeast quadrant of Washington, D.C. Further, Dr. Brown feels privileged to be a part of medical missions to other countries. He recently participated in medical missions in Belize and Cuba and has upcoming missions scheduled for Tanzania and Senegal where he hopes to provide medical services to children at nearby SOS Villages. The medical mission is supported by Action Teranga. His son is featured in his video.
